The problem
The web's worst behaviour isn't pornography — it's the cancel-subscription button hidden three menus deep, the reply designed to make you angry enough to answer, and the feed that never ends. None of it is illegal, so nothing blocks it.
What it does
Dark-pattern neutraliser
Confirm-shaming copy, pre-ticked consent, disguised ads and buttons weighted so the manipulative option is the easy one — rewritten in place so the two choices look the same.
Toxic replies, collapsed
Comments scored as abusive are folded down with the score visible, not silently deleted. You can always open one. Hiding things without saying so is its own dark pattern.
Cookie walls, auto-rejected
Consent banners are answered with the most private option available and dismissed, instead of being visually hidden while the tracking continues underneath.
Profanity masking
Optional, adjustable, and off by default — useful mostly on shared or family machines.
Fourteen categories of harm
Gambling and betting, prediction markets, crypto scams, trading platforms, MLM schemes, malware and phishing, cryptojacking, piracy, AI spam farms, fake shops, gore, dating, plus your own lists and a shortener resolver that shows where a link actually goes.
Doomscroll stopper
A time budget per site that interrupts rather than blocks, because a hard block on a site you use for work just gets the extension uninstalled.
Guardian Lock
A PIN over the settings. It exists because the person most likely to turn a blocker off is the person who installed it, ten minutes from now.
