Terms of Service
- [DATE YOU PUBLISH]
These terms cover monolab.dev and the software Monolab (“we”, “us”) sells, which today is Warden Pro. Contact: support@monolab.dev.
By downloading our software or buying a licence, you agree to these terms.
Who you are buying from
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar (Polar Software Inc.). Polar is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it processes the payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. Polar’s Checkout Buyer Terms apply to the payment: polar.sh/legal/checkout-buyer-terms
Warden Free
Warden can be downloaded and used free of charge, with no time limit. The free edition includes website blocking across the whole PC, blocklists, custom rules, Safe Search, ad removal and browser lockdown.
Warden Pro licence
When you buy Warden Pro you receive an activation code. Once paid for, it gives you:
- A permanent licence to use Warden Pro, including every version released during your updates period (below), for as long as you like.
- One year of updates from the date of purchase. After that, the version you have keeps working with all Pro features switched on, and blocklists keep updating. Only newer versions of Warden need a renewal.
- Use on up to 3 PCs in your own household, for personal and family use. For use in a business, school or other organisation, contact us.
You may not sell, share publicly, or give away your activation code, and you may not try to get around the licence check.
Renewals
You can optionally renew for another year of updates at the price shown on our website at the time (currently USD 19 per year). Renewing is never required, and not renewing takes nothing away.
Free trial
Warden includes a 7-day trial of every Pro feature, started inside the app. No payment details are needed. Starting it needs an internet connection once. There is one trial per computer: reinstalling Warden does not start a new one. When the trial ends, Warden goes back to the free edition. Your Pro settings are kept, and come back if you add a licence.
Withdrawn licences, and checking your licence
We may withdraw an activation code that was refunded, charged back, or shared publicly. A withdrawn code stops unlocking Pro features, and Warden goes back to the free edition. Website blocking itself keeps working.
Checking your licence
There is no account and no activation. Instead, Warden checks its licence online about once an hour by downloading our public list of withdrawn codes. A licence must be checked successfully at least once every 30 days. If it hasn’t been (for example, the PC has been offline for a month, or monolab.dev is blocked), Pro features pause until Warden can check again, which happens by itself within about ten minutes of the PC being back online. Warden warns you a week before. Website blocking never pauses, and nothing has to be entered again.
What Warden can and cannot do
Warden is designed to make blocking hard to switch off in a weak moment. It is not unbreakable. Someone with administrator rights on the PC, given enough time and determination, can always remove software. No blocker filters every website. Lists can miss sites or block sites they should not.
Warden is a tool. It is not a substitute for parental supervision, and it is not medical or psychological treatment.
Third-party services
Warden uses third-party services to do its job:
- DNS resolvers, Cloudflare by default, or another one you choose in the app
- Blocklist publishers, whose lists are downloaded directly from them
- Browser extension stores, used to install Warden’s own browser extension
These services are provided under their own terms. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their availability or content.
No warranty
Warden is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will block any particular content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monolab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profit or use, arising from your use of our software or website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence the claim relates to.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
Refunds
See our Refund Policy. In short: any purchase can be refunded within 14 days, no questions asked.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applied when you bought your licence continues to govern that purchase. We will change the effective date above when we update this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
