StoryArk privacy policy

StoryArk: Kids Bible Stories, made by Monolab.
The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking. Your child’s name, progress and settings stay on your phone. The app only goes online to fetch stories from our story library.
Information that stays on your phone
StoryArk keeps the following in the app’s own storage on your device:
- the reader’s name (or nickname), age group and reading buddy, from the library card;
- whether stories open in Kids or Family mode, and the other reading settings;
- reading progress: the page each story was left on, critters found, stickers earned, favourites, and which stories were finished and when;
- the stories you download.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it.
What the app sends over the internet
StoryArk talks to one server: stories.monolab.dev, our story library, hosted by Cloudflare. The app asks it for the list of stories and downloads stories and their covers.
These requests contain nothing about your child: no name, no progress, no advertising or device identifiers. Like any internet request, they show the server your phone’s IP address and basic technical details so it can send the files back. We do not use this to identify anyone or build a profile, and we do not sell or share it. Cloudflare processes these requests to deliver and protect the service, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
New-book alerts (optional)
If a grown-up turns on new-book alerts, Android asks for permission to show notifications. The app then checks the story list in the background now and then, at most every few hours, and shows a notification on the phone when a new book is added. The notification is created on the phone itself: we do not use a push service, and no device token is sent anywhere. You can turn alerts off in the app’s Grown-ups area or in Android’s settings.
What StoryArk does not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising.
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services.
- No chat or messaging with other people.
- No access to location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
Children
StoryArk is made for children to enjoy with a grown-up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: the name typed on the library card never leaves the phone. The settings and anything that leaves the app, such as emailing us, sit behind a grown-ups-only check.
Purchases
StoryArk has no in-app purchases at the moment. If we add a membership, payments will be handled by Google Play, and we will update this policy before that version is released.
Deleting information
To remove downloaded stories, use Grown-ups › Stories on this phone. To delete everything StoryArk has stored, uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings › Apps › StoryArk › Storage and clear its storage. Because we hold no information about you or your child, there is nothing to delete on our side.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
